Summersdale Publishing produces bite-sized books, cards, games and a variety of print media. Their products range from educational to just for fun. I worked with Summersdale Publishing on the former, initially as a sensitivity reader and editor of a selection of books, before moving to write my own.
Written by yours truly, The Little Book of Queer Icons was commissioned by Summersdale Publishers. They wanted to create a small history book that would introduce readers to the world of important figures in LGBTQ history. To that end, I selected 38 queer icons to write about, summing up some of the most incredible achievements within the tight word count for each icon. This involved working collaboratively with the editing and marketing teams, before ending up with a little book that I'm incredibly proud of.

As a sensitivity editor, I was tasked with diving into the manuscript of The Queeriodic Table. My goal was to ensure that all LGBTQ language and terminology had been used correctly and in a way that wouldn't seem offensive or clinical to the LGBTQ community. I ensured that the book was a respectful and accurate introduction to LGBTQ history and experiences.
